This morning I woke up at home. Home is a wooden house in the forest that rolls down to the coast.
I put up the coffee and opened the front door to listen to the ocean. Its sound fills the Campus like a huge animal’s breathe.

I put on hiking boots and walked muddy trails through the forest and up the hill, and I saw a river dive into the Pacific, winding among sand and trees. There were elk deers resting on the grassy hillside, and a wild daffodil watching the waves far below.
I looked south west and imagined to sail far into the misty grey horizon until Hawaii, and the South Pacific..

Before lunch, I watched sea otters playing in the estuary, drifting on the currents, lying on their backs.
A kind of magic is flowing around and inside me, transforming, revealing…calling.
I am at Sitka, and it is even more incredible that I imagined and dreamed. It feels like a brand new start. A new life.
